Good for: something we have already seen you about. Checking how a treatment is going, a quick look at results we have already discussed, a repeat of a private prescription, or one simple question. Not for a new problem, more than one issue, or anything that needs an examination.

Extended appointment – up to 40 minutes
Good for: two or more concerns, complex or long-standing symptoms, a mental health concern such as anxiety, low mood or stress, a long medical history, several results to discuss, or paperwork that needs time: insurance reports, medical letters, driving or work-related documents.
£160 · in clinic or by video
Long appointment – up to 60 minutes
Good for: an unhurried, in-depth consultation. Several problems at once, a full review of a complex or long medical history, a comprehensive medication review, detailed discussion of multiple results or a long-term condition, or lengthy reports and medical summaries completed with you.
£250 · in clinic or by video
Please choose the appointment length that best matches what you would like to discuss. This helps the GP assess you safely and ensures there is enough time to deal with your concern properly.
If you book a shorter appointment than needed, the GP may need to prioritise the most important issue first. Where possible, we may be able to extend the appointment on the day, but additional time is charged separately at £45 per extra 10 minutes. If this is not possible, a further appointment may be required.

Private prescriptions
Our GPs can issue private prescriptions where clinically appropriate.
A prescription issue fee applies. Medication costs are not included and are paid separately to the pharmacy or medicine supplier.
Private prescriptions are always issued at the discretion of the GP. In some cases, the GP may need further information, medical records, blood tests, monitoring or specialist input before prescribing.
Referral letters and reports
Our GPs can provide referral letters to private consultants, hospitals, imaging providers and other services where clinically appropriate.
Simple referral letters start from £40. More detailed letters, forms, reports or medical summaries may cost more depending on the complexity and time required.
Blood tests and investigations
YPC Health can arrange a wide range of private blood tests and investigations. These are charged separately from the GP consultation.
Your GP may recommend tests based on your symptoms, medical history and clinical needs. You may also request specific tests, although the GP will advise whether they are appropriate.

Do I need to be registered with YPC Health to see a GP?
No. You do not need to register with us or leave your NHS GP practice. Anyone can book a private GP appointment with us, in clinic or by video.
How much does a private GP appointment cost?
A standard 20-minute appointment is £90, in clinic or by video. A 40-minute extended appointment is £160, a 60-minute long appointment is £250 and a 10-minute follow-up is £55. Private prescriptions, referral letters and reports are charged separately: prescriptions are £15 during an appointment or £35 if issued separately, and specialist referral letters start at £40.
How quickly can I be seen?

Can the GP prescribe medication?
Yes. Private prescriptions are issued at the GP's clinical discretion, and you pay the pharmacy for the medicine itself. Payment for an appointment does not guarantee that a prescription will be provided.
Can the GP refer me to a specialist or arrange tests?
Yes, where clinically appropriate. The GP can write specialist referral letters for private or NHS care, and we can arrange blood tests, ECGs and other investigations at our Ilkley clinic.
Do you offer video GP appointments?
Yes. Video appointments cost the same as clinic appointments (£90 for 20 minutes) and are available wherever you are in the UK.
