If you are exposed to flour dust, wood dust, solder fume, isocyanates or other substances that can affect the lungs, the Health and Safety Executive expects your lung function to be checked regularly. We measure your lung function, compare it against the expected values for someone of your age, height and sex, and report whether anything needs following up. Diagnostic spirometry, with reversibility — £99

The fuller test, for when you or your GP need an answer about symptoms. It includes reversibility testing, where the test is repeated after a bronchodilator — that is the part that helps tell asthma apart from COPD.
