We can test whether you are currently infected with COVID-19 by looking for the virus (antigen). The sample is sent on to a lab for testing and you should receive your results within 36 hours by email. We antibody testing, see our rapid test cassette and laboratory testing services.

A sample is taken by inserting a swab into your nostril or inside your mouth. The test can be carried out if you think you may currently have COVID-19. We can carry out testing if you are unable to make an NHS appointment, whether that is due to your availability or if you’re unable to leave your own home.

As with all of our services, we come to you and carry out the testing, either in your own home or place of work. One of our friendly healthcare professionals will attend the location, bring all the necessary kit and equipment, and carry out the testing there and then.

Note: Payments must be made prior to appointment confirmation over the phone or via invoice. This service is VAT exempt.

Frequently Asked Questions

About Coronavirus (COVID-19)

COVID-19 is an infectious disease that can affect your airways and lungs, caused by the most recently discovered coronavirus.

This infectious disease was unknown until the recent outbreak which originated in China in late 2019. At the time of writing, cases of COVID-19 continue to rise daily across the globe.

The most common symptoms associated with COVID-19 are fever, tiredness and a dry cough, but symptoms can take up to 14 days to appear so it is difficult to know if someone has been infected ahead of these conditions appearing. In the meantime, infected people can spread the virus unknowingly.

Is the test specific for COVID-19?

Yes, our PCR swab virus antigen test only tests for COVID-19. It does not test for any other diseases, such as flu.

Can the test detect asymptomatic (no COVID-19 symptoms) patients?

Yes, the test will be able to if you currently have COVID-19, even if you are not displaying symptoms.

Can babies and young children be tested?

Yes, there are no issues with testing babies and young children.

Can pregnant or breast feeding women be tested?

Yes, there is no harm to the mother or baby when performing a test.

Is there anyone that shouldn’t be tested?

No, the more people that are tested, the better it will be to understand the spread of the virus, which will result in better measures being taken to prevent its spread.

Can I receive my results in alternative ways?

To make the process as quick as possible we send the results by email. However, if you do not have access to an email address or wish to receive them by telephone or post, please let us know.

Can I have more information on the labs you use?

The labs we use are accredited and regulated to carry out testing for COVID-19. The results from samples tested are shared with Public Health England and go towards the overall test numbers in the UK.

What if I test positive for COVID-19?

If this happens we advise that you follow the most up to date guidelines, including self isolation, which can be found here: If a ‘Test and Fly’ service has been requested, unfortunately we will not be able to confirm your COVID-19 free status and you will receive documentation for this. Fees for this service will still apply.
